Dear JTA Families,

Tonight is our Halloween in the Halls event, and we hope to see your entire family there!

First, thank you for your incredible generosity during our candy drive. Your donations will help make tonight's event a fun and memorable experience for all of our students and families. We truly appreciate the support you have shown our school community.

Halloween in the Halls will be held tonight from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM, or until the candy runs out.

This is a family event, so we encourage you to bring the whole family and enjoy the evening together. Students are welcome to wear their costumes and visit the candy stations throughout the building.

Please remember that students may not be dropped off for this event. All students must attend with a parent, guardian, or other responsible adult and must remain with that adult throughout the evening. This is not a drop-off event.

We look forward to spending the evening with our JTA families and celebrating together. Thank you again for helping make Halloween in the Halls possible!

See you tonight!

Go Trojans!

Dear JTA Families,

Thank you for your patience! Our Parent Update newsletter is attached. We apologize for the delay in getting it out this week due to some technical difficulties.

As a reminder, Halloween in the Halls is this Wednesday from 5:00-6:30 p.m., or until the candy runs out! We hope you and your family will join us for an evening of fun, costumes, and treats.

We are also still accepting candy donations to help make this event a success. If you would like to contribute, donations can be sent to the school through Wednesday. Every bag helps us keep the treats flowing for our students and families!

Don't forget that this week is Spirit Week! Tomorrow's theme is Decades Day, so break out your favorite fashion from any decade and join in the fun.

Thank you for your continued support of our school. We look forward to seeing many of you at Halloween in the Halls!

Go Trojans!

Dear JTA Families,

I hope everyone has had a wonderful week!

Our weekly newsletter is now available and can be viewed here.

I know life gets busy, and sometimes newsletters get overlooked, so I wanted to highlight a few important reminders:

Impact Aid Forms: If you have not yet completed your child's Impact Aid form, please do so as soon as possible. These forms help provide important funding for our school.
Candy Drive: We are currently collecting individually wrapped candy for our upcoming Halloween in the Halls event. Donations are greatly appreciated!
Halloween in the Halls: Mark your calendars for October 28. We look forward to welcoming our JTA families for an evening of trick-or-treating and fun.
Holiday Meals: Please save the dates for our family holiday meals:
November 19 - 6th grade Holiday Meal
December 17 - 7th and 8th grade Holiday Meal

I would also like to extend a sincere thank you to the parents and family members who have responded to our recent call for volunteers. We are excited about the support and partnership from our families. I am currently organizing volunteer opportunities and gathering information, and I will be reaching out to each of you this week with additional details.

Thank you for your continued support of our students, staff, and school community. We appreciate all you do to help make JTA a great place for kids to learn and grow.

Have a great week!

Dear JTA Families,

We are excited to share that JTA students met our September attendance goal! To celebrate this accomplishment, we will have a Free Tech at Lunch Day tomorrow.

Students will be permitted to use personal electronic devices during their lunch period, including:

Cell phones
Tablets
Handheld gaming devices
Other personal electronic devices

Thank you for making attendance a priority. Your support helps ensure that our students are in school, engaged, and learning each day.

We also need your help with our upcoming Halloween in the Halls event on October 28! This special event gives JTA students and their families an opportunity to come together for an evening of fun and trick-or-treating throughout the school.

To help make Halloween in the Halls a success, we are asking students to bring in bags of individually wrapped candy for our annual candy drive. Every donation helps us create a great experience for our students and families.

As an added incentive, each candy donation will earn your house a ribbon toward the House of the Year competition, so every bag counts! The candy drive will run through October 28.

Thank you for supporting our school and helping make Halloween in the Halls a memorable event for our students and families.

Dear JTA Families,

Due to the heavy rain this afternoon, we may need to modify our car rider dismissal procedures. If the rain continues at dismissal time, students will remain inside the library until their ride arrives at the door so that we can keep everyone safe and dry.

If your child is a car rider, please have your car rider tag displayed when you arrive. This will help us quickly identify your child and send them out promptly, making the pickup process much more efficient.

If the rain lets up before dismissal, we will follow our normal car rider procedures.

Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and cooperation as we work to ensure a safe dismissal for all students.

Hello JTA families, this is Principal Danielle Cassady.

I hope you and your family have enjoyed Fall Break and had an opportunity to rest, make memories, and spend some time together. We are excited to welcome our students back to school tomorrow and look forward to seeing everyone back at JTA.

A few weeks ago, I shared my October Principal's Message in our weekly newsletter, but I know not every family has a chance to read everything that comes home from school. Because this message is especially important to me, I wanted to share it again and encourage you to take a few moments to read it.

In this month's message, I talk about what it means for JTA to truly be a place "Where Trojans Belong" and why our partnership with families matters so much. I also share my hope that more parents, grandparents, and community members will consider becoming involved in our school.

If you have an hour a week, an hour a month, or simply a willingness to help, we would love to have you. Volunteers make a tremendous difference in the lives of our students.

Please take a moment to read the attached message, and if you'd like to learn more about volunteer opportunities, contact our school office or reach out to me directly. Thank you for being such an important part of our JTA family.

We are looking forward to a great second quarter and continuing to work together to make JTA a place where Trojans belong.

North Hardin High School is excited to host the first home football game of the season this Friday, September 11th at 7:30PM. We play Central Hardin and it is a “Blackout!” Wear black to support your Trojans!

This is just a reminder that students middle school aged and below must be accompanied by a supervising adult or they will not be allowed into the stadium.

Anyone attending the game is expected to be in the stands and watching the game.

No backpacks are allowed into the stadium.

We want everyone to enjoy the game! Go Trojans

Good Evening JTA Families,

Tomorrow is High Attendance Day, and we are excited to celebrate with our students!

To make the day extra special, students may:

Wear their pajamas to school
Participate in a variety of fun activities throughout the day
Enjoy extra outdoor fun time
Use their electronic devices during lunch

We will also have a snack cart available for students who would like to purchase treats. Students may want to bring a few extra dollars to buy items from the snack cart.

Most importantly, we are striving for 100% attendance tomorrow and would love to have every student here to join in the fun and celebration. Every student counts, and we look forward to seeing everyone at school!

Thank you for your support, and we can't wait for a great day!

Attention JTA Families!

Thank you for encouraging your children to participate in our school lunch program!

Because our school participates in the federal Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program, all students receive free lunch daily, regardless of family income.

I wanted to share a couple of areas where we need your attention:

Complete the CEP Form: Please submit this paperwork if you haven’t already. This data is critical for our school to secure essential funding from various sources. You can use these links to complete the form for each household.

English HIF public link
https://www.myschoolapps.com/Home/DistrictRedirect/HARDINHIF_KY?langid=1

Spanish HIF public link
https://www.myschoolapps.com/Home/DistrictRedirect/HARDINHIF_KY?langid=2

You are not required to add money to MySchoolBucks at this time. When you complete the form, you will receive an automated email stating your status. Even though you may not qualify based on your income, please disregard the status. Since our school is CEP, lunch is still 100% free for ALL children who attend our school.

If you have already added funds on MySchoolBucks, students can still use these funds to purchase any additional milk, sides, or entrees that they may want. These funds will stay on their account until used.

We appreciate your cooperation in helping us keep lunches free for everyone by participating in school lunch and completing the necessary paperwork.

If you have questions, please contact our Child Nutrition Department at 270-769-8877.

Thank you,
Danielle Cassady

Dear JTA Families,

As you receive this week’s parent newsletter, I want to share two important reminders that will help us start the 2025–26 school year smoothly and support our students in meaningful ways.

First, the Annual Update in Infinite Campus is open. If your household has had any changes—name, address, phone number, emergency contacts, or other important information—please log in to the Parent Portal and click on the Annual Update link. Completing this update ensures you receive all back‑to‑school communication and helps us verify accurate bus routes for the upcoming year.

We sent this information out a few weeks ago, but we are still missing many updates. Your time and attention to this makes a real difference in our planning.

Second, you’ll see in the newsletter a request for volunteers. We are looking for caring adults who would like to mentor students once a week on Fridays from 7:40–8:30 AM. Volunteers will help students who need a little extra support staying organized and getting assignments turned in. Instructions for signing up are included in the newsletter.

If you’ve ever wanted to make a difference in the life of a young JTA student, this is a wonderful opportunity.

Thank you for your partnership and for all you do to support our school community.

Dear Trojan Families,

We are excited for our first dance of the school year and can't wait to see our Trojans show off their best moves!

To help the event run smoothly and safely, please review the following pick-up procedures:

Please do not plan to pick up your child early from the dance. Students will not be allowed to bring their belongings into the gym, and all staff members are needed inside the event to supervise students. The first dance of the year is always very well attended, and we are unable to spare staff members to escort students to retrieve their belongings before dismissal.

All students will be dismissed promptly at 5:00 PM.

To make dismissal as efficient as possible, we will utilize two pick-up lines:

Morning Drop-Off Line
If you normally drop off your child in the morning, this line pattern will remain the same for dance pick-up.

Bus Parking Lot Line
A second pick-up line will be located in the bus parking lot. Please form a line beginning at the front doors and continue through the entrance to the parking lot.

We do not recommend parking and walking up to pick up your child, as it may be difficult to exit the parking lot once vehicles are lined up for dismissal.

Thank you for your cooperation and patience as we work to safely dismiss a large number of students. We are looking forward to a fun and memorable evening for our students!

Go Trojans!

Sincerely,

Danielle Cassady
